Dwayne Johnson wants Paris Museum to update his wax figure ‘starting with my skin color’
A wax museum in Paris is smelling what The Rock is cooking — after social media users roasted its new figure supposedly made in his likeness. Dwayne Johnson, a Hollywood actor known for his Samoan, Black and Nova Scotian heritage, has urged Paris' Musée Grévin Wax Museum to update its waxwork of him, starting with his skin color. The museum's new waxwork was met with criticism from social media users for being too white-washed. Comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr. also commented on the statue, comparing it to other celebrities such as David Beckham or an H&R Block employee. In response to the backlash, the museum responded by promising to rectify the issue quickly and sending new photos once completed. The attraction boasts over 200 celebrity waxworks and features over 200 celebrities.

Dwayne Johnson has weighed in on the scuttlebutt surrounding Paris’ Musée Grévin, which unveiled an image of the new waxwork of the Hollywood heavyweight, which missed the mark by a lot.
In an Instagram post, Johnson said his team would be in contact with the tourist attraction to request some changes.
The “Black Adam” star posted a video of comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr. lambasting the statue for being too white-washed.
“Is this how y’all felt when you lost the Little Mermaid?,” Jefferson quipped, referring to some Disney fans who complained when Halle Bailey, who is Black, was announced as the lead in the live action remake of the beloved 1989 animated film.
The stand-up comic, who said he was “low-key offended,” also cracked on how the Musée Grévin made The Rock look like a “pebble,” David Beckham, a part of the royal family, or an H&R Block employee.
“For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum, in Paris France so we can work at ‘updating’ my wax figure here with some important details and improvements- starting with my skin color,” wrote Johnson. The entertainer has Samoan, Black and Nova Scotian heritage. “And next time I’m in Paris, I’ll stop in and have a drink with myself.”
In response to the backlash, Grévin Museum issued a mea culpa and promised to right their wrong.
“Dwayne Johnson is right and we noticed it and will obviously remedy it as quickly as possible and send him new photos once completed,” a spokesperson said in an email to Deadline. “We are waiting for him when he will come to Paris and the Grevin Wax Museum to celebrate that with a cup of champagne.”
The attraction boasts over 200 celebrity waxworks, including Angelina Jolie, Ryan Gosling and Leonardo DiCaprio.
